THE TREE DON’T CARE WHAT THE LITTLE BIRD SINGS

Charcoal drawing on archival paper 4.00 x 0.50m, aluminium tripods, light fixtures, lamps. Dimensions variable

This work is the psychological profiling of a waiting moment. Two structures, the light that connects them together and a drawing, become the heroes of a pause. No one guarantees whether the illuminated bodies come closer, pull apart, or share a moment of

luminosity. Everything takes place somewhere in-between, where all that preceded and everything that is about to come are suspended in mid-air. Everything remains static except for the current flowing through them and the energy waving in the space between. The drawing, trying to provide an interpretation for a condition of psychological banishment, combines heterogeneous elements, alternating a simultaneously introvert and extrovert rhythm, in an environment that seems ideally created for absence.

*The title of the work is borrowed from the lyrics of Nick Cave’s

song “We no who U R”.

Το έργο The tree don’t care what the little bird sings αποτελεί το ψυχογράφημα μιας στιγμής αναμονής.

*Ο τίτλος του έργου είναι δανεισμένος από τους στίχους του Nick Cave του τραγουδιού We no who u r.
